HIGH VALUE WORKING DOGS

We already live in an increasingly dangerous world and must bring our children up and educate them where they are exposed to contraband such as drugs and the abuse of prescribed medicine. Unfortunately, our schools are not immune to drug infestations and often must combat an enemy that is not visible.

Luka is currently being used at schools and hostels, rehabilitation canters, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. Luka is able to detect 21 different narcotics of which 3 are prescribed narcotics.

Mayla is our female Belgian Mallinois Active-Indicator on 17 Narcotics. She is mainly deployed at the airport.

Tracking dogs have a unique ability to follow scents for miles, and they can even distinguish between individual scents in a group. They are trained to follow a specific scent and can do so regardless of the distractions in their surroundings. In addition, bloodhounds, a popular breed for tracking, have approximately 230 million olfactory cells compared to 5 million in humans, making their sense of smell much more powerful.

Our trained personal protection dogs are trained in basic obedience and is trained to bite on command, bark on command, do house searches, protect passengers inside a car, attack an intruder inside a car, follow a spoor, protect an object or a person, when so commanded and much more.

Canine Unity SA was established to become a service provider in the Private Security Industry. It specializes in the training of high value working dogs and dog handlers, be it for professionals or private individuals wanting to train their own dogs.
