Our Story
Canine Unity SA was established to become a service provider in the Private Security Industry. It specializes in the training of high value working dogs and dog handlers, be it for professionals or private individuals wanting to train their own dogs.
With the escalation of violent attacks and theft in the farming community as well as the general decrease in the government’s ability to provide a safe environment for its citizens to live in, Canine Unity SA was established in October 2020, to fulfil a need to provide specialized private security services and to do narcotics searches to help fight drug abuse. Currently we have 21 Belgian Malinois and 5 Dutch Shepperd working dogs, all in different phases of training. Our best achievement to date is a competent Belgian Malinois in detection of various narcotics whilst other dogs are being trained for personal protection, anti-poaching, and explosives.
Operational structure: Canine Unity SA is managed by Melg Welmans Senior (shareholder), renowned for services in labor relations, however, he is also well versed in training and has been in business for the last 37 years and achieved his Private Security Industries Regulating Authority (PSIRA) grade B in 2021. The operations are run by Bryan Murray-Rogers a very capable DH5 Dog Handler with experience in training and anti-poaching as well as in detection of narcotics. Administration is managed by Abigail Murray-Rogers who also is a trained DH4 Dog Handler.
